Matt Wofford was born and raised in Salt Lake City, where his passion for European vehicles took root early. As a teenager, he worked after school in a friend’s independent VW shop—learning the fundamentals of German automotive repair through hands-on experience.
At 18, Matt began his professional career at a Volkswagen dealership, backed by factory training and a drive to master the craft. Over time, he expanded his expertise to include Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, continuously pursuing advanced technical training to stay ahead of rapidly evolving vehicle technology.
But his development didn’t stop at diagnostics and repair. Matt has also completed leadership training—sharpening the skills needed to build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team.
In 2011, he founded Wofford’s European Car with a mission to combine dealership-level expertise with honesty, transparency, and personalized service. To uphold that vision, Matt has handpicked a team of the best technicians in the industry—professionals who share his values and commitment to doing the job right.
He continues to attend top-level training events and collaborates with leading technicians and shop owners across the country—always focused on raising the bar for independent European auto repair.
Outside the shop, Matt enjoys traveling with his wife and staying involved in the local community. Whether it’s mentoring young technicians or helping a neighbor, that same sense of care carries through every part of his life.
